Hoof Geeks Clinics Summer 2023 -Part 1

Hello all you wonderful Hoof Geeks!

We were excited to hit the road to BC and see our Alumni (aka Returning Hoof Geeks) and new students.

Lots of photos here so best enjoyed with a wifi connection and ideally on a larger screen so you can take it all in.

Clinic #1 Grand Forks BC

Awesome hostess and facility in Grand Forks — thank you Joanne Rooke for the hospitality — you are a great hostess! Although a smaller group of new students, we had the pleasure of seeing some alumni students- Carol Milner, Erin Peach, Alexandria Evans, Gabriele Gabi Mayrhofer Vetter, Roy Kyte, Taylor Jessup - who helped with the newbies … always happy to see students returning to refresh and learn new information. Great work everyone!! 🤓😀

Clinic #2 Princeton BC

Honestly was such an incredibly beautiful location for a clinic. Thank you to Cindy and Don MacKay who own Good Partner Ranch in Princeton BC.

We had students that will be learning to trim professionally as they work with us for a year and a half and work with horses in their region and send us case studies to be assessed and come for more practical training and follow our clinic tour through BC.

We also had students who did not think they could understand all they needed to know to trim and groom the hoof after the set up trim.

“Christine makes learning fun and easy and it’s amazing how so much theory can make so much sense! I feel confident maintaining my horses hooves now!”

You are never too old or too young to learn. If you have the desire to learn, nothing can stand in your way!

The horses’ feet were easily assessed and all the students did so well!

Keep up the Princeton Geek Community Trim Events guys! You all rock! And thanks again for inviting us to your gorgeous town!

Clinic #3 - Langley BC

This was our first clinic at the Durance EQ Learning Center but it won’t be our last! Being there was like being on a retreat! What a gorgeous spot quietly nestled at the end of a dead end road among large cedar trees and a creek running through the property.

Rebecca and Victoria are working hard on creating a lovely free lifestyle for their horses. Track system continues to expand and this space will be one of a kind in Langley. Thank you ladies for seeing a life where your horses can love life freely at home.

Students were able to see in greater detail the 3D markup of hooves to visualize internal structures and hoof health. Finding the heathy hoof with the cadavers and getting a better understanding of laminitis. What happens to the hoof is a direct reflection of horse lifestyle - feed - movement - emotional and mental stress.

All the students did amazingly well. Ella from Oregon joined us! 2 Alumni students were happy to come hear some new discoveries in hoof health and were once again even more confident in their knowledge.

Thanks to Margaret who brought her human and horse Beamer blankets and pad — my lower back still is free of pain! Thanks for sharing your soundness tools with us all! 😃👍🏻
