Hoof Geeks 2019 - It's a wrap!
In 2019 we helped to empower horse owners to take control of their horses soundness throughout Western Canada.
We also hosted 2 clinics in Moose Jaw SK, and in St. Andrews MB (Francine's ranch 'Second Chance Ranch'), Kindersley SK, Rosthern SK, Ninga MB and Port Alberni BC.
Christine (aka Brain) is always teasing Francine (aka Pinkie) that we would take over the World one hoof at a time! “Pinkie! If we go any further west, we’ll get wet!,” said Brain! 😂😂 Well, we did it! We made it to Port Alberni and next summer we will return with an additional clinic in Courtenay BC, so look out Vancouver Island!
We made so many new friends this year; trimmers, holistic healers, riding coaches, trainers, one veterinarian, veterinarian technicians, and wonderful horse owners.
Thanks to all of you for stepping up and walking through the door we opened for you to advance and continue your learning in total equine heath!
The Moose Jaw clinic had the most alumni students (aka returning Hoof Geeks) of any clinic so far! It was amazing to see how much they had progressed and how hungry they were for more knowledge. And to see the smiles on their eager faces as they left to try more trimming techniques they learned the second, and third time around.
This year was also a time for growth and learning for us as well. We are always seeking to expand our knowledge base and bring more advancement in our trimming techniques back to our students. We strive to deliver the trimming basics as easy as possible to new students as well as challenging our Hoof Geeks Grads to delve deeper into the anatomy and functional trimming of the hoof.
Our Hoof Geek student community is growing and we see our students becoming close friends and sharing in their abilities as they help each other and also seek out new information they acquire from other sources. As Hoof Geek instructors we are always learning from our students as well, with that we thank you!!!! 🙏🏼
This summer we added a list of some of our grads who are working as trimmers so if you’re looking for a barefoot trimmer GO HERE. Can’t find someone? Contact us and we’ll see if we know of someone close to you.
Did you know you can attend any Hoof Geeks clinic for FREE after your initial clinic? Yup! You just pay for any cadavers you need for the clinic. More info HERE.
If you haven't already, join us in the Hoof Geeks Facebook Group to stay connected with us and other students and barefoot trimmers who post additional educational material, challenging cases, success stories and more.

2019 has also seen some of our students branch out beyond hoof care to become equine nutritionists and rescue/rehabilitation experts! As we have always said, it takes a community to build and maintain a sound horse and we're so grateful to those who can step up to make a difference in the lives of horses everywhere.
A very special thanks to David Landreville who generously shared his insights and trimming knowledge with our Hoof Geek community this year. These photos are from the clinic at Second Chance Ranch (Francine’s farm) in Manitoba. We’re hosting David in Rosthern, SK May 22-25, 2020 (for Hoof Geeks Grads only as these clinics are more advanced) so stay tuned for the event to be announced on FB and you can always view upcoming clinics HERE. If you are a Hoof Geek do follow David’s facebook page too!
And for all the students who have been asking for short videos, we will be making some at Christine’s newly established farm, Happy Ass Acres.
Also, we will have some blaze orange Hoof Geek Hoodies for sale in our store in January for those of you who have begged us to sell them! Stay tuned for an announcement about this soon. If you'd like to receive notification of such things including new blog posts, sign up for our newsletter bellow. Don't worry, we won't fill up your inbox.
All the best to everyone during the holiday season. We wish you, your families (yes including your fur babies) a happy healthy and safe time. Please share this post!
